Adding the Guided Tour Player to your SF.com pages

To enable the Guided Tour player, you will need to add the pre-configured link that was part of the Guided Tour package that you installed.

Steps:

  1. Click on the Admin Setup Link (Top right of page - 'Your name' drop down)
  2. Click on 'Customize/Home/Custom Links', then click on 'New' to create a new custom link.
  3. Label the Link 'Stratus GT',  Select 'Execute JavaScript' from the Behaviour Drop Down List.
  4. Copy and Paste this link into the Custom Link Box {!REQUIRESCRIPT("https://stratuscloudsolutions.herokuapp.com/js/GTPlayer_v1.js")}
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click on 'Customize/Home/Home Page Components', then click on 'New' to create a new custom components. 
  7. Click Next and then type 'Stratus GT' in the Name box and ensure that Links is selected as the Type. Click next and add the Component and click save. 
  8. Click on 'Setup/Customize/Home/Home Page Layout' links on the lift side of the page
  9. Edit the Home Layout you would like to add the Guided Tour Player to.
  10. Select the 'Stratus Guided Tour' check box (make sure it's checked)
  11. Click the 'Next' button
  12. Click 'Save' on the order page (you can change the display order if you like)

Once you have click save, click back on the 'Home' tab and you should now be able to see the Player icon on the right side.

Adding to the Case Feed

Unfortunately, Salesforce.com has removed the sidebar if you are using the new Case Feed UI.  If this is the case you will have to do a few quick step for the Guided Tour Player to work on the Case tab.

  1. Click on the Admin Setup Link (Top right of page - 'Your name' drop down)
  2. Click on 'Setup/Customize/Cases/Page Layout' links on the lift side of the page
  3. Edit the Page Layout that is assigned to the Profile you wish the Guided Tour Player to be available
  4. Select 'Custom Links' in the Case Layout inventory section
  5. Drag the link 'Guided Tour' to the Custom Links section
  6. Click the 'Save' button to save the Page Layout.

Once you have click save, click on the Case's Tab and open a case.  The player should display as expected on the right side.  

User Interface Settings

It is important to note that Salesforce.com gives you the option to have your custom components displayed on all of your Salesforce.com pages.  You will need to enable this setting if you would like the Guided Tour - Player to be accessible on all your pages.  Follow the steps to enable this setting.

  1. Click on the Admin Setup Link (Top right of page - 'Your name' drop down)
  2. Click on 'Setup/Customize/User Interface' links on the lift side of the page
  3. Check the box beside 'Show Custom Sidebar Components on All Pages'
